Your Property & Granting Permission

You may have recently received a letter or flyer requesting permission to metal detect on your property and have additional questions. We understand the concerns landowners may have about allowing us on your property and strive for complete transparency about who we are and what we do.

So here are the answers to some common questions.

  1. Is North Country Relic Recovery insured?
  2. YES! North Country Relic Recovery caries liability insurance and provides proof of coverage upon request.
  3. What happens if you are injured on my property?
  4. The property owner and its agents are 100% protected from any liability. Each person you permit on your property signs a Release of Liability / Hold Harmless Agreement that protects you from ANY and ALL liability should we become injured.
  5. Who will be on my property?
  6. That is up to you! You have complete control of who will be on your property and will be provided a copy of their valid ID in advance. We are a small organization so 99.9% of the time it will be just myself, my GoPro and maybe my wife.
  7. Do I have to sign a contract?
  8. Absolutely not! You may ask us to leave at any time!
  9. Will you damage my lawn or property?
  10. No. To retrieve a subsurface item we use a small hand trowel or shovel specifically designed to minimize the impact to your property. The process involves creating a semi-circular plug that is returned upon item retrieval.
  11. Can I see what you find?
  12. Absolutely! You may see everything we uncover and choose to keep anything you like.
  13. What if you uncover junk?
  14. Any junk we unearth we haul away. This includes nails, rebar, soda cans or any other undesirable junk we come across.
  15. You mentioned a GoPro, will you be filming?
  16. Yes. North Country Relic Recovery films footage for content creation on YouTube and Instagram.
  17. What about my privacy?
  18. Good question! We take you privacy seriously! Therefore, we never mention or show any identifiable information in our videos. However, if you have a business you want mentioned or just want to be in the video, we can make that happen!
  19. I've never tried metal detecting. Can I join you?
  20. Absolutely!! We always bring a backup detector and would be more than happy to show you the ropes. However, be warned! It is addicting!!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, you may still have, we really would like this to be a completely worry free and fun experience for you.
